Autumn: Jacquard-Woven Zip Bag

The bag in Autumn colors (black, rust, gold, green) measures 7-1/2 inches by 9-1/2 inches. For the zipper, I used the "centered, exposed" technique. The fabric of the zipper is a close match to the rust yarn in the weaving.

The original image was based on a photo taken in October at the cabin in Montana, back when the jacquard loom was new. I had a firm grip on weaves, but not on the particular use of yarn colors in pictorial jacquard weaving. As a result, I'd never recognize the image, but viewed as an abstract color study, the cloth expresses the season quite well.
